- Inventory shrinkage
- Staffing and budgeting for the loss prevention departments
- Employee integrity screening
- Loss prevention training and awareness programs
- The impact of dishonest employees
- The costs of external retail crime
Some key statistics in The 2016 National Retail Security Survey report include:
- US inventory shrink rate is 1.38%
- Inventory hrink cost the US retail industry $45.2 billion in 2015
- 48.1% of retailers surveyed reported increases in overall inventory shrink
- Employee theft/internal was responsible for almost 36% of total inventory shrink
